Jackson Housing Authority (JHA) was organized and chartered in 1939 pursuant to the Housing Authorities Law of Tennessee. JHA is a public non-profit corporation which provides the low-rent public housing, Section 8, and Community Development programs as its primary activities. JHA is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor to staggered five-year terms. The Executive Director serves as Secretary to the Board and has the responsibility for the administration of the agency, pursuant to Board policy.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Jackson Housing Authority will hold a public hearing at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 125 Preston Street, Jackson, to obtain public comments regarding the PHA Five-Year and Annual Plan.
