ADMISSION AND OCCUPANCY SPECIALIST
Perform functions relating to the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program application process, admission, income verification, issuance of vouchers, conduct briefings, continued occupancy, and interim rent changes. Will counsel clients regarding their rights and obligations.
Associate’s degree with proficiency in the use of computers and office equipment. Above average clerical and math skills. Must have precise and disciplined work habits with the ability to meet and deal effectively with the public. If selected, must pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screen. Jackson Housing Authority (JHA) was organized and chartered in 1939 pursuant to the Housing Authorities Law of Tennessee. JHA is a public non-profit corporation which provides the low-rent public housing, Section 8, and Community Development programs as its primary activities. JHA is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor to staggered five-year terms. The Executive Director serves as Secretary to the Board and has the responsibility for the administration of the agency, pursuant to Board policy.
