    Jackson Housing Authority (JHA) was organized and chartered in 1939 pursuant to the Housing Authorities Law of Tennessee. JHA is a public non-profit corporation which provides the low-rent public housing, Section 8, and Community Development programs as its primary activities. JHA is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor to staggered five-year terms. The Executive Director serves as Secretary to the Board and has the responsibility for the administration of the agency, pursuant to Board policy.

    PROPERTY MANAGER ASSISTANT POSITION

    Jackson Housing Authority is seeking a Property Manager Assistant. This position will assist the Property Manager in the daily operations of managing public housing developments, and will implement and enforce HUD regulations. Desired additional qualifications include experience in the use of computers and software applications, knowledge of office practices, and financial record keeping procedures. Must have the ability to use tact, discretion, and courtesy in dealing with residents.

    The successful candidate must have college hours in business, public administration or social sciences from an accredited college or university. If selected, must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License and pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screening by a designated physician. Also, must be a resident of Madison County within six (6) months of employment.

    SALARY: $29,240

    SITE MANAGER POSITION

    Jackson Housing Authority is seeking a Site Manager to supervise the turnover of apartments for move-ins, move-outs and transfers to ensure the units are suitable for occupancy and residents are selected according to HUD regulations and tax credit guidelines. The successful candidate will process applications for housing, lease units, calculate and collect rent, conduct initial certifications and recertifications, perform unit inspections, assist with budget preparation, and purchase maintenance and office supplies for the development. The Site Manager is responsible for the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and all aspects of building and grounds security and cleanliness.

    Minimum requirement of an Associate’s degree in Business or related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred with property management experience and background in finance. If selected, must possess a valid Tennessee Driver’s License and pass a post-offer physical examination and drug screening by a designated physician. Also, must be a resident of Madison County within six (6) months of employment.
